With many years of boating experience as a member of the USCG Reserve and Captain of NY Waterway, Brittany is fully equipped to help you achieve your nautical goals. As a qualified instructor, she can design personalized lessons that are easy to comprehend and will teach you the skills needed to feel confident out on the water.

Meet Captain Britt
Hello! My name is Captain Brittany. It is very nice to meet you.
I have been passionate about boating ever since I was young, and now that I have been a captain for many years, I am excited to share my skills with you.
You may have previously heard of me as I was the Captain of the New York Waterway ferry who was in charge of rescuing the passengers of the US Airways Flight 1549 back in 2009. After the Airbus A320 hit a flock of birds on its way from NYC to North Carolina, I stayed calm and maneuvered the boat to save 155 passengers. Because of my actions, I was awarded the military branch’s Meritorious Public Service Award.
My many years of experience and ability to think on my feet make me an excellent boating captain. If you choose to take lessons with me, I guarantee to make the experience as safe and enjoyable as possible. My extensive training and boating knowledge make it easy for me to give you relaxed yet thorough lessons.

Couples Instruction
Make a date out of boating and enjoy the peacefulness of the ocean with a couples lesson. I can teach you and your partner everything you need to know about boating so that one day you can go out on your own.
Hands-On Instruction
Get my undivided attention with a one-on-one lesson. We can get through the material at your pace so you can thoroughly enjoy the lesson without anyone rushing or falling behind.
Group Instruction
